From Torque Wrench to Figma: My Journey to Human-Centered Design

The year 2023 was a challenging year for me, My transition from Automobile Engineer to UX/UI Designer was quite an amazing journey for me. Before becoming an Automobile Engineer, I always used to think about how car manufacturers designed their cars so beautifully that every time I saw one of them on the road I would feel goosebumps I had a dream to become an Automobile designer but unfortunately due to family responsibility the dream didn’t turn into reality.

But still, I love what I did in my previous job because every day was a new problem statement for me. Every day at the workshop a new job/task would arrive and my job was how to solve it in a efficient way so that customers would be happy form my service. But still, deep down I always used to think & tell my elder brother(Product Designer) about how I could improve my skills & learn about design.

Present
Mastering a new skill set was a daunting task. However, amidst the challenges, I realized the significance of empathy in design. This pivotal realization led me to adopt a user-centric approach, emphasizing the importance of understanding the needs and experiences of end-users in crafting meaningful solutions.
